RinkLog replaces the notebook, the Excel file, or the phone notes parents use to jot down their child's stats during games. During the game, from the stands, you enter every shift, goal, assist, shot, and faceoff with one thumb, tracking exactly the stats YOU care about. After the game, RinkLog turns that data into clear charts and statistics. Season after season, you see your player's real progression: what's improving, what needs work, the highs and lows. Everything is stored, managed, and exportable. The app works on phone, tablet, and computer.

Yes, a free plan is available. For more complete tracking (more players, unlimited history, advanced features, charts, PDF export), the Premium plan is available at $12.99 CAD/year until September 30, 2026 (a "Founding member" price, locked in for life for anyone who subscribes before that date); $19.99 CAD/year after for new subscribers. For a whole team, the Club plan ($99.99 CAD/year) allows up to 20 players.

On iPhone/iPad: Open Safari, go to rinklog.com, tap the Share icon (rectangle with arrow), then 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android: Open Chrome, go to rinklog.com, tap the menu (3 dots) then 'Add to Home Screen'. The app then works like a native application, with offline access. Native versions exist too: the iPhone and iPad app is live on the App Store (search for "RinkLog", or tap the App Store button at rinklog.com/install), and the Android app is live on Google Play (search for "RinkLog", or tap the Google Play button at rinklog.com/install).

In the app, click '+ Add player' on the main screen. Enter the name, number, position, and team. You can also add a photo. The player is then ready for tracking.

Three paths, all available to every account. 1) Incoming, automatic: in the player profile, Calendar section, paste the team's iCal address (Spordle, TeamSnap, Goalline, Google, Apple or Outlook; https:// or webcal://). Upcoming games enter RinkLog, refresh every night around 1 a.m. Eastern, and a button lets you resync immediately. Up to 10 subscriptions per account. An imported game is read-only: the league is the source of truth. 2) Incoming, once: upload an .ics file (2 MB max). Nothing refreshes afterwards. 3) Outgoing: on the Calendar page, the "Share my calendar" card gives a private link Google, Apple or Outlook follow, with your games AND your events (practices, sharpenings, tournaments) and their alarms. Send it to the grandparents: no account needed. Google can take several hours to refresh; that delay is theirs. Optionally, "Write directly into Google Calendar" creates a "RinkLog" calendar in your Google account and pushes your events there on every change: one way only, RinkLog never reads your Google. Yes. When creating a player, choose Ringette (purple). The RinkBuddy board adapts automatically: the blue ring replaces the puck, the "Hits" button disappears (ringette is an officially non-contact sport) and so do faceoffs, since they don't exist in ringette (play restarts with free passes). As a bonus, you can track ringette's signature stat: completed and missed blue-line passes, with a game-by-game completion percentage. Penalties use ringette's official scale (2-minute minor, 4-minute major). Goals, assists, shots, ice time, +/- and the goalie mode work exactly like hockey.

From the player's profile, press 'New game'. Enter the opponent, date, and game type (regular season, tournament, playoffs, exhibition, or scrimmage), each filterable separately in the season stats. During the game, use the buttons to record each event: shift start/end, goal, assist, shot, hit, faceoff, penalty, +/-. The timer runs automatically. After the game, everything is saved and automatically added to the season stats and progression charts.

Yes, that's one of RinkLog's core strengths. The dashboard (RinkBuddy) is fully customizable: drag and drop stat buttons to match your player's position and your priorities. A defenseman might prioritize hits and +/-; a forward might focus on faceoffs and shots. Configure it once, use it every game.

Each player has their own profile and game tracking. To track two children in two simultaneous games, you'd need two devices. Multi-player management is designed for sequential tracking (one game at a time per player).

Yes. Open the game in history and you can add, modify, or delete events. Season stats are recalculated automatically.

Yes, RinkLog has a full goalie mode (Premium and up): goals against, save percentage, high-danger save percentage (HDSV%), rebounds and quality starts, with shot-location heat maps.

Absolutely. That's actually one of the reasons RinkLog exists. A player's potential often hides somewhere other than the goals column: ice time, hits, a shift with zero goals against, a scoring chance created. It's not always easy to see, especially early in the season, but the progress becomes clear over time. Check out our Philosophy page to learn more.

With the Manual Match Sheet: the navy button right under "Start a match" on the player's profile. Instead of recording each event live, you enter the game's totals after the fact: goals, assists, shots, hits, blocked shots, faceoffs won/lost, +/- and penalty minutes for a skater (saves and goals against for a goalie), along with the opponent, date, game type, and result. Those totals count fully toward your season stats. The only difference: these games don't show up in game-by-game charts or heat maps, since there's no event-by-event detail to plot. A "Manual" badge clearly marks them in your history, and a small indicator on stat cards shows when a number includes manually-entered data.

Each stat card shows a trend indicator comparing the last 3 games to the rest of the season: ↑ Green arrow + %: the player is trending up on that stat vs their season average (e.g. +34% shots in last 3 games). ↓ Red arrow + %: the stat is trending down compared to the average. · Gray dash: the stat is holding steady (less than 9% variation). If no indicator appears, the player doesn't have enough games yet for a reliable trend (minimum 4 games required). Stats without per-game data (PP/PK time, penalties, presences) don't have trend indicators.

The Advanced Statistics section appears automatically in the player profile once you record team chances and opponent chances. 🎯 Team chance (on-ice): your team generates a clear opportunity (slot, in front of net) while the player is on ice. 🔥 Opponent chance (on-ice): the opponent generates a clear opportunity while the player is on ice. 💨 Missed / blocked shot: the player's shot that misses the net or is blocked by a defender, counts toward iCF. 📊 SCF% (Scoring Chance For %): share of scoring chances generated BY the team. Above 52% = player drives play; below 48% = gets outplayed. Example: 8 chances for, 5 against → SCF% = 61.5%. ⚡ iCF (Individual Corsi For): total shot attempts by the player : shots on goal + missed + blocked. Measures offensive volume regardless of outcome. 🎲 PDO: sum of team scoring chance conversion rate and save rate against opponent chances. Always regresses toward 100, high PDO (> 105) means a lucky stretch; low (< 95) means bad luck. Useful to tell whether a hot or cold streak reflects true player value vs variance.

From the player's profile, tap "Create a card". Two formats: a PHOTO card (image) or a VIDEO card (a short animated clip), both with stats from a specific game or the whole season (your choice) built in automatically. Several illustrated frame templates per sport and position, customizable stats (automatically adapted if the player is a goalie), pinch-to-zoom on the photo or clip to frame it just right, then share straight to TikTok, Instagram, X, or Facebook, or download it. Great for recruiters, agents, or just sharing a great game with family.

An account-level medal system (not per player), viewable at rinklog.com/trophees. Medals unlock automatically based on real logged statistics: games played, career goals and assists, hat tricks, shutouts for a goalie, having played all three sports, and more. Each medal shows its real rarity: the share of RinkLog members who've already unlocked it.

Benchmarks compare each of the player's stats to an anonymous group of comparable players (same sport, position, birth year, and level), shown as a percentile (e.g. "better than 72% of comparable players"), without ever exposing another player's individual data. xG (expected goals) calculates, for every shot, a scoring probability based on its danger zone and shot type, then compares the player's real goals to that total to measure "Finishing". For a goalie, the equivalent is called GSAx (goals saved above expected).

Yes, right in the player's profile, under "Goals": pick a statistic (adapted to the player's position), set a season target, and track live progress, updated with every logged game.

In the player settings, you can import an iCal file (from HockeyQC, Spordle, etc.) to have your games appear automatically in RinkLog. You can also subscribe to the calendar via Google Calendar.

Yes, once installed as a PWA. Data already loaded stays available offline. New stats entered offline sync as soon as the connection is restored.

On the player's profile, press the "Manage visibility" button (eye icon, bottom-right of the photo). Four modes are available: 🔒 Private (default): nobody but you can see this player. 🌐 Public complete: visible to everyone with the link, listed in the "Our players" directory, and indexed by Google. 🔎 Public restricted: same as "complete", but you pick exactly which sections are visible (stats, history, charts, etc.). Listed in the directory, but not indexed by search engines. 🔗 Link only: doesn't appear anywhere (no directory, no search), only someone with the exact link can view it. Great for a recruiter or agent without making the profile broadly public. Switching to a public mode requires typing "accepted" to confirm. No profile ever goes public by accident. Available on every plan, including Free.

At rinklog.com/joueurs ("Our players"), a public search directory. It lists every profile set to "Public complete" or "Public restricted", never private profiles or ones set to "Link only".

It's a data-entry rigor signal (levels 1 to 5) that can appear next to a player's name on their public profile. It is NOT an independent fact-check (impossible without an outside witness), only an assessment of how statistically plausible and consistent the entered data is. A rule engine compares each game to realistic rates (shots, hits, goals, etc. per 60 minutes of ice time) and checks that events were logged spread out over time rather than in one burst. Once a week, an AI pass reviews all recent games together to spot patterns a single-game rule can't catch, with human review possible from our team. The level depends on both the number of games logged AND the plausibility margin: the higher both are, the higher the level can climb. Manual match sheets don't count toward this calculation. The shield only ever appears on public profiles.

Exclusive to the Franchise and Club plans: an AI-generated analysis report for each player, automatically, monthly or every 5 or 10 games (configurable on the player's profile). A minimum of 3 completed games is required for the first report. Each report compares the recent period to the season average: overall verdict, detected strengths, concrete areas for improvement (often with a suggested drill), and for goalies an analysis of saves and goals against by danger zone. The AI remembers the player's previous reports to track progression from one to the next. Delivered by email and viewable directly in the app.

Every paying subscriber gets a personal code, something like RINK-JOEB-7K2. The family you invite enters that code and gets 30 days of the full Franchise plan, free and with no credit card: up to 5 players, full history, progression charts, advanced statistics and the reports that analyze all their games. On your side, the reward lands when that family takes a paid subscription. On the first one, a Premium subscriber gets the Franchise plan until their renewal date, paying nothing extra. Under 'My account', in the 'Invite a family' section, and also right on the 'My players' screen. One button copies the code, another opens your phone's share sheet with a ready-made message and your invite link. Codes are for paying subscribers only: a free account does not have one. Yours appears as soon as your subscription is active.

If you arrived through an invite link, the code is already remembered: an 'Invitation received' card is waiting on the 'My players' screen with the code prefilled, so you just tap 'Activate'. Otherwise, create your free account and enter the code under 'My account', in the 'Promo code' section. That same field accepts both promo codes and invite codes: it recognizes which one it is on its own. A code is used once, by an account that has never subscribed, and you cannot use your own code.

It fires on the invited person's first payment, not on their signup. Since they enjoy their 30 free days first, expect at least a month between their signup and your reward. Your counter shows both numbers separately: people signed up, and people who became subscribers. If you are already on Franchise or Club, the first tier gives a $10 credit on your next renewal instead of a plan upgrade, since there is nothing above to unlock. On iPhone and iPad, the free days and the plan upgrade work exactly the same. The credit and the free renewal go through the App Store, so we email you to hand them over. If the invited person is refunded within 30 days, the conversion is cancelled and your counter goes back down. A reward you already received is never taken back automatically.

From your account, go to 'My account' then 'Go Premium'. The Premium subscription is $12.99 CAD/year until September 30, 2026 ($19.99 CAD/year after for new subscribers, annual billing either way). Payment is secured via Stripe on the web, or via the App Store on the iOS app (in that case, the subscription is managed from your Apple settings, not from RinkLog).

Go to 'My account' → 'Subscription' → 'Cancel subscription'. Your Premium access remains active until the end of the paid period. No additional charges are made.

Subscriptions are non-refundable once the period has started. If you encounter a technical issue, contact us at support@rinklog.com and we'll find a solution.

Yes, Premium trial codes are sometimes distributed at events or through partnerships. Watch our social media for announcements. The free plan also lets you explore basic features with no time limit.

By default, a player is always Private: only you have access. Making a profile public is a deliberate action ("Manage visibility" button on the player's profile, confirmation required), never on by accident or by default. You choose exactly who sees what: Public complete, Public restricted (chosen sections only), or Link only. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Yes. Data is stored on Cloudflare (secure global infrastructure), transmitted over HTTPS, and passwords are hashed with PBKDF2. Your IP address is temporarily retained to prevent abuse (rate limiting). We comply with Quebec's Law 25.

Right in the app: go to 'My account', then the 'Danger zone' at the bottom of the page and tap 'Delete my account'. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: players, games, statistics, photos and reports are erased, and any active subscription is cancelled at the same time, in compliance with Law 25. You can also write to support@rinklog.com if you prefer.
