Terms of Use

Last updated: September 8, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of RinkLog, an application developed by JobeLabs (Quebec, Canada).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing RinkLog or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.

These terms constitute a legal agreement between you (the user) and JobeLabs, developer of RinkLog.

2. Service Description

RinkLog allows parents, coaches, and players of hockey, DekHockey, and ringette to track and analyze game statistics, game after game and season after season. The service is offered as a Progressive Web App (PWA), and as a native app on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) where available.

The service is available in four plans: a free plan (limited features, 1 player), and three paid subscription plans, Premium (2 players), Franchise (5 players), and Club (20 players), each with full features (advanced statistics, charts, complete history, photo/video player cards, and more).

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with reasonable notice when possible.

3. User Account

To access full features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this minimum age.

Below 14, the account must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who remains responsible for it. That is the case RinkLog is built for: the account belongs to the adult, the statistics are about the child.

You are responsible for all activities carried out under your account. Notify us immediately at support@rinklog.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account that violates these terms.

4. Content and Data

You retain all rights to the data and statistics you enter in RinkLog (player names, statistics, photos).

By using RinkLog, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data for the purpose of providing the service.

You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of the information you enter. Do not enter personal data of third parties without their consent.

You agree not to use the service for illegal purposes, not to attempt unauthorized access to systems, and not to disrupt service operations.

5. Paid Subscriptions and Payments

The Premium plan is available on an annual subscription at $12.99 per year for anyone who subscribes before October 1, 2026 (a "Founding member" price, locked in for life as long as the subscription stays active); starting October 1, 2026, the price for new subscribers is $19.99 per year. The Franchise plan is $29.99 per year, and the Club plan (built for a whole team, up to 20 players) is $99.99 per year. All prices are in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. A subscription bought from the iOS app goes through the App Store and follows Apple's price tiers, which may differ from these amounts. The exact price is then always shown to you by the App Store before you confirm the purchase.

On the web, payments are securely processed by Stripe; we do not store your payment card information. On the native iOS app, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's usual billing, renewal, and cancellation terms; managing that subscription is then done from your Apple account settings, not directly from RinkLog.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period. You can cancel at any time (from your RinkLog account for a web purchase, or from your Apple subscription settings for an iOS purchase); your access remains active until the end of the paid period.

Subscriptions are non-refundable once the period has started. For technical issues attributable to our service, contact us at support@rinklog.com. For a purchase made through the App Store, refund requests are subject to Apple's policy.

We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice. Current subscriptions are not affected before their next renewal.

6. Privacy and Personal Data

We collect personal data necessary for service operation: email address, name, entered game statistics, IP address (for security).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure (North American servers). Passwords are hashed (PBKDF2-SHA256). Connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

Under Quebec's Law 25 and applicable privacy legislation, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your data. Contact us at support@rinklog.com to exercise these rights.

We retain your IP address for as long as the security measure in question strictly requires, which is minutes to hours for rate limiting. For trial codes and referrals the address is not retained at all: we keep a one-way fingerprint of it, which only tells us whether two claims came from the same connection. The full detail is in the privacy policy, section 9.

Account data is retained as long as your account is active.

7. Cookies, Local Storage and Measurement

RinkLog uses cookies and browser local storage for two categories of purpose, and the distinction between them matters.

Essential purposes, always on, because the service cannot run without them:

Authentication session: keeping you logged in between visits (duration: 7 days, renewable).

Preferences: selected language, layout of your tables and charts, your answer to the privacy banner.

Offline queue: actions entered without a network, kept on your device until they sync.

Non-essential purposes, subject to your choice:

Usage statistics: which screens and features actually get used. They contain no player data.

Meta advertising pixel, on our public pages only, to measure our campaigns.

On the web, those last two are enabled only after you accept in the choice banner; declining genuinely prevents them from loading. In the iOS and Android apps, no third-party tracker is loaded at all, and usage statistics can be turned off from the Account screen.

8. Intellectual Property

The name "RinkLog", the name "SauceZone", the logo, the interface, the source code, the texts, the images, the report card and player card templates, and every other element of the service are the exclusive property of JobeLabs inc. and are protected by copyright and trademark law.

RinkLog is a trademark of JobeLabs inc.

The source code of the service is proprietary and confidential. No license to it is granted to you. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, decompile, disassemble, or create a derivative work from it, without the prior written permission of JobeLabs inc.

You, for your part, keep all rights in the data and content you enter into RinkLog (section 4). Using the service transfers none of them to us.

The service uses third-party libraries governed by their own licenses. The list is maintained internally and can be obtained on request at support@rinklog.com.

9. Limitation of Liability

RinkLog is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, JobeLabs shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the service.

We make reasonable efforts to maintain service availability, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance may be performed with notice when possible.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 15 days before the effective date.

Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Quebec.

13. Change Log

September 8, 2026: section 6, the IP retention period is corrected; it was not 30 days everywhere. Section 7 rewritten: it claimed no third-party tracking was used, which had been false since the Meta pixel was added to the public site. It now separates essential from non-essential and describes the choice on offer. Section 8 completed: trademark, proprietary source code, third-party libraries. IP addresses tied to trial codes and referrals are no longer kept, replaced by a one-way fingerprint. Section 3, minimum account holder age raised from 13 to 14: that is the age at which a minor may consent on their own in Quebec, and it also sits above the United States threshold of 13.

July 26, 2026: previous version.
