The formula

SCF% = chances for ÷ (chances for + chances against) × 100

Worked example

During a player's shifts, the team generates 8 clear chances and allows 5: SCF% = 8 ÷ 13 = 61.5%. That player tilts the ice the right way.

A "scoring chance" gets defined before the season and never changes: typically a clear look from the slot or off an odd-man rush. Consistency of definition beats perfection. In RinkLog, two buttons are enough (team chance, opponent chance) and SCF% computes itself.

RinkLog measures and computes all of this automatically during your hockey, ball hockey and ringette games.
