Points per game (goals + assists, divided by games played) fixes the total-points main flaw: two players never played the same number of games. A player with 18 points in 15 games (1.20 PPG) out-produces one with 22 points in 30 games (0.73 PPG).

PPG = (goals + assists) ÷ games played
The expert read adds ice time: points per 60 minutes (points ÷ minutes played × 60) fairly compares a first-line and a third-line player. It is a scout favorite, and it requires measured ice time, which RinkLog captures automatically every shift.
